The Julia de Burgos Bookstore at Taller Puertorriqueño serves as the only English/Spanish bilingual bookstore in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. In addition to Puerto Rican literature, we specialize in books by Latine and Latin American authors, with an emphasis on BIPOC, queer, and women writers. Our popular Meet the Author events and book readings are designed to facilitate an intergenerational community space that fosters dialogue around Latinx stories and local authors. Beyond books, we sell products from popular small businesses and artisans based in Puerto Rico, as well as locally-made art and merchandise by Puerto Rican/Latinx community members.
